Every consignment is promoted through OldWest.com, the Old West App, digital publications, email marketing, social media, livestream coverage, and event marketing—ensuring your horse and brand receives exceptional visibility before, during, and after sale day.
Guaranteed Sale Entry for Elite Partners
Elite Partners receive one (1) guaranteed berth in the Old West Horse Sale as part of their partnership.
Additional sale berths may be purchased, subject to availability and event capacity.
Guaranteed berths are reserved exclusively for Elite Partners who meet all published deadlines and sale requirements.
Non–Elite Partner Entries
Consignors who are not Elite Partners are welcome to submit a horse for consideration through the Official Consignment Waitlist Application.
Because guaranteed sale berths are reserved for Elite Partners, all non-Elite Partner consignments are reviewed through the Old West approval process and accepted based on availability.
Final acceptance of all non-Elite Partner consignments are subject to event capacity and the sole discretion of Old West.

The Old West Consignment Fee directly supports the Old West Sale Graduate Incentive Program, creating exclusive graduate incentives and bonus opportunities that continue adding value to eligible Sale Graduate horses long after the auction ends. These incentives reward performance in the arena while increasing the long-term value of Old West Sale Graduates and the breeding programs behind them.

2026 Heber Horse Sale Results
The 2026 Old West Horse Sale continued to set new benchmarks for the rope horse industry, delivering another record-setting year for consignors, buyers, and breeders.
2026 Sale Highlights
22 Horses Sold to New Buyers with $4,369,000 in Gross Sales and an Average Sale Price of $198,590.
21 Horses Owner Retained with $3,810,000 in Retained Value and an Average Retained Value of $181,428.
43 Total Horses Marketed with a combined Market Value of $8,179,000 and an Overall Average of $190,209.
These results reflect the quality of the horses, the strength of the buyer pool, and the continued value created through the Old West Sale Graduate Incentive Program.
Horse Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the Old West Horse Sale, all horses must meet the following criteria and receive final approval from Old West:
Performance & Suitability:
Horses must be of appropriate age: Yearlings, 2-year-olds, or 3-year-olds
Horses must be sound and serviceable at the time of sale
Horses are required to be "sale ready" or "sale fit." This means ensuring that your horse looks the best it can on sale day.
BLACK TYPE REQUIREMENTS – Pedigree Quality Standards:
To maintain the quality and integrity of the sale, the following pedigree performance standards apply:
- 1st Dam: Must have won or produced at least $10,000
OR - 2nd Dam: Must have won or produced at least $25,000
These standards ensure that every horse offered in the Old West Horse Sale represents proven performance genetics and market value. All minimum performance requirements are mandatory and will be verified as part of the approval process.
Veterinary Requirements
Pre-purchase X-rays are required for all sale horses.
Ownership & Paperwork
Consignor must be the legal owner or have authority to sell
Horses must have verifiable identification
Registration papers (if applicable)
Brand inspection or proof of ownership
Ownership must be free and clear of undisclosed liens
Old West Final Approval
All horses are subject to final approval by Old West.
Old West reserves the right to:
1. Accept or reject any horse at its sole discretion
2. Request additional information, video, or veterinary documentation
3. Remove a horse from the sale at any time prior to the sale
Approval is not guaranteed and is required regardless of pedigree, earnings, or prior sale participation.
