Meet the Visionaries Behind Old West
Old West began with a bold vision: To host a world-class futurity and sale that would rival the very best in the country—not just in payout, but in professionalism, prestige, and impact. From our earliest days, we've worked tirelessly to create an event where horsemen and women could showcase the best in the industry, while giving buyers and spectators an unforgettable experience. 3 String Cattle Co.
Founded in 2004, 3 String Cattle Co. is a premier rope horse and cattle operation headquartered in Wallsburg, Utah, with an additional ranch in Poolville, Texas. Owned by Redgie and Robyn Probst, the program is rooted in faith, family, and a lifelong commitment to the Western way of life.
What began as a small family operation has grown into a respected breeding and training program known for producing elite rope horses and dependable cattle. Redgie and Robyn, together with their children—Quincy, Quealy, Paisley, and Parley—run every aspect of the ranch hands-on, ensuring the quality, integrity, and heart behind every horse that carries the 3 String brand.
With state-of-the-art training facilities in both Utah and Texas, the program focuses on raising and developing horses built to perform—athletic, intelligent, sound, and capable of excelling in the arena as well as on the ranch.
As one of the original founders of the Old West Rope Horse Futurity, Redgie Probst has played a pivotal role in shaping its vision from day one. His passion for elevating the industry, supporting trainers and breeders, and creating opportunities for the next generation is woven into the foundation of both Old West and 3 String.
From the mountain pastures of Utah to the bright lights of futurity competition, 3 String Cattle Co. represents a living legacy—where tradition, performance, and purpose ride side by side.
A&C Racing & Roping
A&C Racing and Roping, headquartered in Roosevelt, Utah, is one of the most respected multi-discipline breeding and training programs in the western performance world. Founded by Albert and Chad Richard in the 1980s, the operation was built on a simple but powerful belief: great horses begin with elite genetics, consistent hands-on development, and a deep respect for the western way of life.
Over the years, A&C has cultivated a broodmare band that includes daughters of First Down Dash, Corona Cartel, Dual Rey, and other iconic sires—producing horses with speed, heart, and remarkable versatility. Their program reached national acclaim when homebred filly Runnning Brook Gal made history by winning the 2009 All American Futurity, a milestone that showcased the caliber of horses A&C is known for.
Today, the next generation leads the charge. Chad’s sons, Kaden and Rhen Richard, personally start, develop, and campaign A&C horses from their early training years to elite competitions such as the NFR, The American, and the ARHFA. Their combined experience as horsemen, competitors, and trainers continues to elevate the program’s reputation on both the racing and roping sides.
In 2024, Chad and Rhen played a pivotal role in launching the Old West Futurity, solidifying their family’s long-standing commitment to advancing the rope horse industry. A&C Racing and Roping remains a cornerstone of excellence—blending decades of proven breeding with modern training insight to shape the next generation of champions.
Wittwer Performance Horses
Wittwer Performance Horses represents the next chapter of a family legacy built on grit, horsemanship, and the western way of life. Founded by Jerad and Heather Wittwer, the program is rooted in the same values that shaped Jerad’s career: hard work, humility, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. While many know Jerad for building PDI Diesel into one of the most respected performance brands in the country, horses have always been the foundation of his story. From ranch work to roping, the arena has been a constant thread woven through generations of the Wittwer family.
Today, Wittwer Performance Horses focuses on raising, developing, and showcasing elite rope horse prospects—bringing together carefully selected bloodlines with trusted, high-caliber trainers who help shape each horse into its full potential.
Wittwer Performance Horses is a family-run program dedicated to honoring tradition while building for the future. Their vision extends beyond the arena gate—investing in the next generation of rope horses, elevating the sport, and contributing to the growth of western performance competition. As partners of Old West, they bring a powerful combination of business leadership, horsemanship heritage, and a deep belief in creating opportunities that will shape the industry for years to come
Las Tunas Cattle

Their commitment to producing top-tier equine athletes and roping cattle aligns perfectly with the vision of Old West: integrity, excellence, and a shared belief in the future of the western performance world.
