Old West began with a bold vision: To host a world-class futurity and sale that would rival the very best in the country—not just in payout, but in professionalism, prestige, and impact. From our earliest days, we've worked tirelessly to create an event where horsemen and women could showcase the best in the industry, while giving buyers and spectators an unforgettable experience. In just a few short years, Old West has shattered expectations—hosting record-setting sales and offering a $1 Million Bonus opportunity for competitors and buyers.
Meet the Partners of Old West
3 String Cattle
Founded in 2004, 3 String Cattle Co. is a premier rope horse and cattle operation headquartered in Wallsburg, Utah, with an additional ranch in Poolville, Texas. Owned by Redgie and Robyn Probst, 3 String is built on the foundation of faith, hard work, and a lifelong dedication to the Western way of life.
Together with their children—Quincy, Quealy, Paisley, and Parley—the Probst family runs a hands-on, family-driven program that produces elite rope horses and reliable cattle. With state-of-the-art training facilities at both locations, 3 String is committed to raising horses that are bred to perform, built to last, and capable of excelling in the arena and on the ranch.
As one of the founders of the Old West Rope Horse Futurity, Redgie Probst is passionate about advancing the industry and creating opportunities for trainers, breeders, and youth to thrive. That same vision and leadership are reflected in every aspect of 3 String’s program.
From the pastures of Utah to the bright lights of the futurity arena, 3 String Cattle Co. represents a legacy in the making—where tradition, performance, and purpose ride side by side.
A&C Racing & Roping
A&C Racing and Roping, based in Roosevelt, Utah, is a premier rope horse and racehorse breeding and training program founded by Albert and Chad Richard in the 1980s.
Built on elite genetics and purposeful training, their broodmare band includes daughters of legends like First Down Dash, Corona Cartel, and Dual Rey. A&C made history with homebred filly Runnning Brook Gal, winner of the 2009 All American Futurity.
Today, Chad’s sons, Kaden and Rhen Richard, take pride in carrying on the legacy—personally starting and showing A&C horses from the futurity level all the way to top-tier pro competitions like the NFR and ARHFA. In 2024, A&C helped launch the Old West Futurity, further cementing their commitment to shaping the future of the rope horse industry.
THAT HAVE JOINED OLD WEST
Old West is led by a passionate team of horsemen, business strategists, and event producers dedicated to building something truly extraordinary. We understand both sides of the arena—from the competition gate to the sale ring—and we’re proud to serve the western industry with integrity and excellence. “We didn’t just want to host a great event. We wanted to create a movement—one that honors the horses, rewards the riders, and celebrates the Old West way of life.”
Performance Diesel Inc.
Jerad Wittwer didn’t just build a business—he built a legacy rooted in hard work, innovation, and an unwavering passion for diesel performance. He started turning wrenches in 1991, learning the trade the old-fashioned way: with his hands, his heart, and a hunger to be the best.
Raised on a Utah ranch, Jerad’s roots run deep in the western way of life. Long before PDI became a national name, he was a teenage ranch kid rebuilding engines in the dirt driveway, working sunup to sundown with the same grit and work ethic that still defines the company today. That upbringing—where horsepower mattered just as much on a tractor as it did on a truck—shaped his values and commitment to quality.
In 2001, Jerad launched Performance Diesel Inc. out of a small shop in St. George, Utah. His goal was simple: build high-quality parts that truckers and fleets could trust—because he knew firsthand what it meant to rely on your engine when your livelihood depends on it.
What began as a small shop has become a trusted leader in heavy-duty diesel parts across North and South America and Australia—known for quality, reliability, and service. But more than that, PDI is a company built on faith, family, and a deep respect for the industries that fuel America.
Laynee Giles
I started working for the Old West Team in April of 2025, and I had the great opportunity to help put together the first Old West Horse Sale—a memory I will forever cherish! I attended Utah Valley University, where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Digital Marketing with a minor in Business Management.
Horses have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve been on the back of a horse since I was a child, and that love has never left me. Growing up, I competed in the Utah High School Rodeo Association, where I learned many life lessons and developed a deep love for competition. My dad and grandpa have always raced quarter horses, and I believe that’s where I grew to love a fast horse.
Barrel racing is my event of choice, and I’ve competed in it my whole life. However, I’ve discovered my greatest passion is in futurity horses. I find immense satisfaction in training young horses and then watching them go on to succeed with others.
Team roping is also a big part of my life. My family has produced team roping jackpots in our arena since I was a kid. Even though I focus heavily on barrels, I still enjoy roping a good pen of steers!
If you can’t find me, chances are I’ll be in the barn. Working for the Old West has truly been a dream, giving me the chance to be hands-on in changing the performance horse industry while also building a horse program of my own.
